Khi đặt tên cho chiếc xe, Suzuki đã chọn chữ Swift có nghĩa là “nhanh chóng”. Cái tên này phần nào đã “ám” cho chiếc hatchback mớicủa hãng, Suzuki Swift liên tục tích lũy cho bộ sưu tập giải thưởng của mình những danh hiệu uy tín như Nhà vô địch Giải đua xe thể thao FIA Junior Rally Championship 2007, RJC – Xe của năm tại Nhật Bản, CarsGuide – Xe của năm... Có thể thấy, dòng xe Swift là dòng xe cỡ nhỏ chiến lược, một trong những mẫu xe giữ trọng trách duy trì bản sắc của Suzuki. Tính đến năm 2014, đã có 4 triệu chiếc Swift được bán ra trên khắp thế giới. Trong các sản phẩm hatchback trên thị trường Việt Nam, mẫu xe Swift RS đời mới nhất được lắp ráp tại nhà máy Suzuki ở Việt Nam, đã định vị là dòng xe hatchback thể thao 5 cửa tạo lập một phân khúc riêng với kiểu dáng “hàng độc quen thuộc”. Swift RS có kích thước khá nhỏ gọn với chiều dài rộng và cao mm. Từ xa dễ nhận biết Swift RS nhờ đầu xe thuôn nhọn kéo dài bảo đảm hiệu quả khí động học và mui xe vát thấp về phía đuôi– một nét thiết kế thường thấy trên xe thể thao hạng sang ở châu Âu. Dáng xe mạnh mẽ bởi cánh lướt gió trên cao. Màu xe được phối đa dạng, thể hiện nét cá tính độc đáo của chủ xe, gồm sơn màu vàng, đỏ hoặc trắng sau đó kết hợp với mui xe màu đen. Trong đó, kiểu phối hợp màu vàng với mui đen là thiết kế mới nhất, đáp ứng sở thích ngày càng tăng của những chủ xe giàu cá tính. Đặc điểm khác biệt đáng chú ý của Swift RS với Swift phiên bản thông thường là phần mui xe và toàn bộ thành cửa đều màu đen, kết hợp dàn mâm xe cũng màu đen, tạo “chất chơi” phá cách. Mâm xe đúc hợp kim đen đậm chất thể thao với 5 cánh kép được dập các đường gân nổi cứng cáp, đồng thời toát lên nét thời trang với kẹp phanh sơn màu vàng đồng bộ với màu thân xe, tương tự trên các dòng xe thể thao cao cấp. Bên cạnh đó là những chi tiết khác biệt dễ nhận thấy như bộ logo Suzuki, tên xe... được mạ vàng cao cấp, tạo điểm nhấn đầy tinh tế cho thiết kế ngoại thất xe. Ngoài ra, đường nét cơ bản của ngoại thất vẫn trung thành với thế mạnh thiết kế dễ nhận biết nét đẹp “kinh điển” gồm chóa đèn pha Halogen phản quang đa chiều hình tam giác vuốt nhọn về rất gần cột chữ A, kèm hai đường gân từ chân cột chữ A uốn lượn bao trọn cụm lưới tản nhiệt dạng tổ ong thanh thoát và liền mạch v ới các khe hút gió ở cản dưới. Có lẽ muốn nhấn mạnh sự thanh thoát của phần đuôi xe với chóa đèn stop sắc sảo nên phần cản dưới thiết kế khá đơn giản, chỉ là bề mặt phẳng phiu với hai gờ lượn kéo dài trọn bề rộng thân xe. Quá trình sử dụng Swift RS đem lại cảm gi ác tiện nghi. Người dùng mở cửa xe không cần cầm chìa khóa. Cửa kính chỉnh điện. Nút điều khiển khóa cửa trung tâm từ ghế lái. Khóa cửa từ xa với chức năng báo đèn ưu tiên. Tay lái trợ lực điện, kiểu 3 ch ấu thể thao, có thể điều chỉnh gật gù. Vô-lăng tích hợp nút chỉnh đa chức năng, giữ cho người lái không bị sao nhãng. Gương chiếu hậu chỉnh điện, tích hợp đèn xi-nhan. Tay nắm chuyển số bọc da và nẹp xi mờ đẹp mắt. Khởi động xe bằng nút bấm Engine Start Stop. Dàn máy lạnh tự động và vẫn giữ thế mạnh làm lạnh nhanh và sâu như trên các mẫu xe Suzuki khác. Toàn bộ ghế ngồi đều rộng rãi, êm ái, viền ghế ôm sát thân người và tựa đầu bố trí vừa vặn đem lại cảm giác dễ chịu khi ngả lưng. Tất cả các ghế đều chỉnh cơ với cần gạt, lẫy kéo trơn tru, không cần dùng nhiều lực. Chiều dài cơ sở đủ tạo không gian đặt chân thoải mái giữa các hàng ghế cho 5 người lớn, cũng như một khoang chứa được khá nhiều hành lý. Hàng ghế sau gập 6040 giúp linh hoạt sắp xếp khi cần chở cả người và hành lý cồng kềnh. Trang bị an toàn gồm 2 túi khí phía trước, dây đai an toàn thuộc loại phổ biến và h ữu dụng hiện nay là 3 điểm ELR cho tất cả ghế . Phần táp-lô rộng rãi với các khe chứa vật dụng nhỏ tiện lợi. Nội thất thể lộ thiết kế năng động qua bệ điều khiển trung tâm hình tháp ngược, hốc lớn hầm hố ôm trọn cụm đồng hồ đo, phần dưới tủ táp-lô được tạo khoảng trống duỗi chân thoải mái. Bảng đồng hồ đo thiết kế khoa học dễ quan sát với cụm đồng hồ kim cân đối và màn hình LCD chính giữa hiển thị đầy đủ thông tin kỹ thuật thiết thực như báo cửa đóng hờ, cảnh báo hết nhiên liệu... Màn hình thông tin giải trí cảm ứng diện tích lớn 7 inch. Các cổng USB, HDMI, Bluetooth, AUX giúp đa dạng các kênh giải trí kết nối qua điện thoại thông minh smartphone và các thiết bị giải trí khác, đồng thời thuận tiện sử dụng các ứng dụng bản đồ hữu ích. Trang bị động cơ xăng 4 xy-lanh, 16 van, Swift RS đạt công suất tối đa 95 mã lực/ vòng/phút và mô-men xoắn cực đại 130Nm/ vòng/phút. Hộp số tự động 4 cấp. Hệ dẫn động cầu trước. Mức tiêu hao nhiên liệu 6,2 lít/100km. Bình xăng dung tích 42 lít giúp xe chạy được gần 700km liên tục sau mỗi lần đổ xăng. Nếu đã dùng đến nấc số 2 vẫn chưa đủ mạnh thì gạt xuống nấc số L Low giúp Swift RS luôn sẵn sàng chinh phục nhanh chóng các địa hình hiểm trở đèo dốc trong điều kiện chở nặng. Bên hông tay đấm số còn gắn nút O/D số vượt tốc tiếp thêm sức mạnh cho Swift RS tăng tốc vượt đoàn xe dài, với lợi thế xe nhẹ trọng lượng không tải chỉ 990kg, trọng lượng toàn tải là Hệ thống treo trước dạng McPherson với lò xo trụ, giảm chấn thủy lực. Bánh xe mâm đúc hợp kim 16inch với cỡ lốp 185/55, kèm khoảng sáng gầm tối thiểu 140mm... giúp xe lăn bánh êm ái, người lái xe yên tâm hơn khi xe băng qua đường xấu hoặc ngập nước. So với nhiều mẫu xe cùng phân khúc, tính năng an toàn của Swift RS vượt trội hơn hẳn khi được trang bị phanh đĩa ABS trên cả bốn bánh với đèn báo phanh trên cao, phân phối lực phanh điện tử EBD, hỗ trợ phanh BA, đem lại sự tự tin và yên tâm thoải mái cho người sử dụng.
